Sounds like life to me....

God’s promises for girls…

“Noble and gentle, loving and kind, More valuable than rubies….Stay faithful and true, then one day you’ll find. You’re the woman God wants you to be!” A small glimpse into  God’s Promises for Girls by Jack Countryman & Amy Parker. I picked up my free copy of this sweet and adorable book from They will send you free books to review and blog about! Try it out today!

Countryman & Parker take you on a vibrant, beautiful journey through illustrations, poems or sayings, and scripture that follow a little girl through seven themes, which include:

God’s Promises When….

                        God’s Promises About….

                        God wants you to….

                        God’s Promises of Help when…

                        God’s Promises About Making a Difference…

God’s Promises about Jesus….

                        God’s Promises for you…..

The authors use scriptures from the International Children’s Bible to give guidance, knowledge, and encouragement for little girls. I believe that this charming hardback is more appropriate for girls ages 6-12. It would make an adorable gift for that small princess!

Making Pancakes

I was sent this email and wanted to share it…

Six year-old Brandon decided one Saturday morning to fix his parents pancakes. He found a big bowl and spoon, pulled a chair to the counter, opened the cupboard and pulled out the heavy flour canister, spilling it on the floor.
He scooped some of the flour into the bowl with his hands, mixed in most of a cup of milk and added some sugar, leaving a floury trail on the floor which by now had a few tracks left by his kitten.

Brandon was covered with flour and getting frustrated. He wanted this to be something very good for Mom and Dad, but it was getting very bad.

He didn’t know what to do next, whether to put it all into the oven or on the stove and he didn’t know how the stove worked!. Suddenly he saw his kitten licking from the bowl of mix and reached to push her away, knocking the egg carton to the floor. Frantically he tried to clean up this monumental mess but slipped on the eggs, getting his pajamas white and sticky.

And just then he saw Dad standing at the door. Big crocodile tears welled up in Brandon ‘s eyes. All he’d wanted to do was something good, but he’d made a terrible mess. He was sure a scolding was coming, maybe even a spanking. But his father just watched him.

Then, walking through the mess, he picked up his crying son, hugged him and loved him, getting his own pajamas white and sticky in the process!

That’s how God deals with us.. We try to do something good in life, but it turns into a mess. Our marriage gets all sticky or we insult a friend, or we can’t stand our job, or our health goes sour.

Sometimes we just stand there in tears because we can’t think of anything else to do. That’s when God picks us up and loves us and forgives us, even though some of our mess gets all over Him.

But just because we might mess up, we can’t stop trying to ‘make pancakes’ for God or for others. Sooner or later we’ll get it right, and then they’ll be glad we tried…

I was thinking and I wondered if I had any wounds needing to be healed, friendships that need rekindling or three words needing to be said, sometimes, ‘I love you’ can heal & bless!  Remind every one of your friends that you love them. Even if you think they don’t love back, you would be amazed at what those three little words, a smile, and a reminder like this can do.

Just in case I haven’t told you lately… I LOVE YA!!!

Send this to everyone you love,  And never stop ‘makin pancakes.

Motherhood is a Blessing

As I look back on the past three years of motherhood, I see how much not only they have changed but also how I have changed. I use to be able to get up and go, now it takes at least an hour just to get us out the door, this does not include the trips back into the house after forgetting diapers, keys, or phones. I use to carry a purse, now I carry a shoulder bag….basically just a huge a diaper bag. I use to talk to my girlfriends about guys, dates, and of course the latest gossip, now its all about the family and what they colored on this time! I use to be worried about pimples, now its about bumps and bruises that are healed with my very powerful mommy kiss!

It is amazing to see my life and the path I have traveled. I’m no where near perfect, but I’m so blessed. I have made many mistakes but God has wiped my slate clean. I grow everyday just by looking into my children’s eyes. God trusted me to raise them and take care of them. God is so good to me.

Wanting to scream “I’m debt free”….

By: Dave Ramsey

Of course after racking up a lot of debt through student loans and credit cards through my dating years with my spouse and later into our marriage years I realized that I could use any advice on how to get out of debt. Dave Ramsey is known for his many books about becoming debt free and achieving financial peace. However, this is not like most of his books where he lays out step by step answers on how to become debt free. This is a simple quick answer book for your everyday financial questions.

Ramsey breaks the questions into sections which include: The Basics; Debit, Credit, and Bankruptcy; Relationships & Money; Budgeting; Saving and Investing; 20-Somethings, College, and Student Loans; Stewardship; Insurance; Retirement and Estate Planning; Automobiles; Real Estate & Mortgages.

Using the simple Q&A form, Ramsey answers many questions average people have day to day, rather if you making 20,000 a year or $200,000 a year, you will find answers.

I found answers to questions about my student loans to how I can save for my children’s higher education so they don’t face the same mountain I did. I also read about ideas to help my children understand money such as comissions instead of an allowance.  I will eventually scream “I”m debt free!”

Prayers from a 3 year old….

Nightly I am encouraged by my three year olds prayers along with her sisters echo. She praises God for the beauty she has seen from the weeds to the sand she got to play in. She thanks God for all (and I mean ALL by name) friends and family. She thanks God for the supper her mommy made and the fridge and oven. Her daddy’s chicken store. Then she will end it by asking God to make everyone well so they can come to church. The most innocent and beautiful prayers come from children!

The optimist sees opportunity in every difficulty”

Beyond The Quote
The way you perceive a specific situation is determined by your frame of mind. If your mind and thoughts are positive, you will always be in a position to seize the opportunities that are before you.

Locked in AGAIN!

So Kaitlyn had discovered how to lock and unlock doors. We were debating on moving and were visiting a house out pass the church building. Kaitlyn went around shutting doors. All of the sudden we hear her yelling at the top of her lungs.”I CAN’T OPEN THIS DOOR! MOMMY! DADDY! WHERE ARE YOU?” She was locked in one of the bedrooms. After ten minutes of searching the car and every where else, Roman was finally able to convience her to unlock the door. She promised never to do it again…..until a week later. While the charter cable guy was here she decided to lock herself in our bedroom. The charter guy chuckled as we searched boxes for a screwdriver or something to get her out of the room. He finally pulled a card out of his wallet and unlocked the door. That is customer service that he never had to do before!
